HISTORY
It all began with a humble London backyard party
Rewind to 2001…
A few hundred Aussies ex-pats and friends, in a cosy garden and a cheeky backyard rave ensued. The tunes were cranking, the party pumping, and numerous neighbours soon joined the fun.
The Police, with Environmental Health in tow however, not so welcomed.
The backyard rave soon progressed into various venues across London as HEATUK. Hard Dance devotees packed out venues such as The Rock, Turnmills, The Fridge, The Cross, Pacha, Camden Palace. Building up to the mighty Brixton Academy as a notorious New Year’s Eve event each year.
HEATUK then spread its wings to the Balearic sands of Ibiza. The warm weather and heavenly attracting hordes of travellers looking for their next party destination.
Bora Bora, Space, Amnesia, Privilege and many more. Legendary venues invaded by our army of clubbers each year looking for the ultimate radical escape! Over time music tastes and trends broadened, and the gigs diversified. Our events offered Trance, Techno, and as time went by House music quickly became most prominent.
This progression was the catalyst for an organic progression into one ultimate experience. In August 2004, South West Four Festival was born.
Fast becoming the largest rave in the capital, it became a solid mark on the festival calendar. For the next 16 years, 75,000 revellers travelled near and far to be part of the SW4 3-day adventure on the Bank Holiday long weekend.
With iconic headliners, SW4 line-ups covered the crème-de-la-crème of the electronic music world. Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Chase & Status, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Faithless Live, Sasha… hundreds of acts, all at the pinnacle of their respective genres.
This journey from humble backyard rave to festival destination proved the team’s devotion to creating incredible dance floor experiences.
SOUTH WEST FOUR FESTIVAL
TODAY
Fast forward to today
Two decades on and that love for the dance has not wavered.
The name may have changed, but an undying appreciation and energy hasn’t. It’s what makes the current iteration, T1000 Events, such an exciting chapter in the story. Continually evolving, the team has steadily held the pace of an ever-changing dance music scene.
In Australia, T1000 continues to deliver numerous events, small and large – each and every one as memorable as the last.
Building on the ethos and spirit that kicked off the string of SW4 festivals, in 2016 the boutique festival Electric Gardens was born on Australia Day weekend, featuring global names on the electronic music scene, headlined by Fatboy Slim, across three stages in Centennial Parklands, Sydney. It quickly became a favourite destination for festival fans not only here in Australia, but for festival goers across the globe.
Fatboy Slim, Armand Van Helden, Eric Prydz, Cirez D, Jamie Jones, Sasha, PvD, DJ EZ, Craig David, Hernan Cattaneo… all killer, no filler. A steadfast reputation for mammoth line-ups and production, the festival toured across four states in Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand from 2016 to 2020.
The Electric Island offshoot continues this legacy, returning this year to Cottesloe Beach in Perth, WA with a sell out event.
That fire deep within T1000 has never stopped burning. The passion and excitement we share kept us going as we traversed and survived a pandemic together.
We continue to sift through artists and keep our finger on the pulse. Programming and delivering electronic music events we are passionate about.
Whether we’ve taken over a backyard garden, packed ourselves under one roof, gathered on the sands of Ibiza, or travelled to dance in a field…
We believe there’s so much more to explore, and we’d love for you to join our journey…
