ELECTRIC GARDENS FESTIVAL – SYDNEY – SAT 27 JAN 2018

[twocol_one]

CENTENNIAL PARK, SYDNEY

This January 2018, “Australia’s boutique festival darling”, Electric Gardens, will once again descend upon the glorious grassy grounds of the iconic Centennial Park in Sydney, for its biggest showdown yet – the flagship event in the national series featuring world class acts across four giant arenas.

Electric Gardens Festival is widely regarded by electronic music fans thanks to the directors’ careful curation skills when it comes to their line-up. Their hugely successful sophomore event in 2017 was completely sold-out and was hailed by many as a return to the lost glory days of al-fresco Australian summer dance festivals.

Electric Gardens Festival in Sydney has upped the ante for it’s 2018 offering with more international artists on their line-up than ever before. And the first-ever festival team-up with one of Ibiza’s most sought-after party brands in the world, Circoloco. If that wasn’t enough, it is also the debut of the Southern Sounds arena, featuring some of the most sought after electronic acts from Australia.

In previous years, Electric Gardens has seen the likes of Eric Prydz / Cirez D, Sasha, John Digweed, James Zabiela, Basement Jaxx, Jamie Jones and many more of the world’s greatest acts across multiple stages. In 2018, fans can expect more of the global legends we’ve come to expect of Electric Gardens’ programming – Headlining the mainstage are some absolute godfathers of electronic music – Fatboy Slim, Armand van Helden and MK – these are seasoned artists that have spent decades entertaining crowds and know exactly how to take a festival atmosphere to the next level! They’re joined by the hugely popular Gorgon City for a DJ set. A beacon of the hedonistic party ethos of Ibiza, Circoloco will premiere it’s very own arena of international talent at EG 2018 – Dubfire, Nicole Moudebar, Apollonia, Art Department, and Clive Henry are set to step up to the plates.

Additionally, an all-star mix of Southern Hemisphere artists will take to a brand-new stage at Centennial Park Sydney, “Southern Sounds Arena” curated by Sydney-based creative music agency UNDR Ctrl (The Island LIVE, Output Festival). Motez, The Aston Shuffle, Luke Million, Bella Sarris, Willaris.K, Colour Castle, Kilter, Roland Tings and Young Franco are all well-known on Aussie shores for their thoughtful, pioneering club productions and robust live sets.

Return to Rio head up the fourth arena at Electric Gardens, once again hosting their own area, The Hangout, at the flagship Sydney event. Flying the Rio flag this year will be Henry Saiz, Edu Imbernon, Jeremy Olander and Peter Dundov (live)  a supreme set of selectors that typically play sets that are melodic, progressive and with a steady, unhurried vibe.

This time The Hangout will be open to the public with GA tickets! A bigger stage and extra sound will embrace the Return to Rio aesthetic – expect incredible decorations, dress-ups and the lively spirit of Return to Rio to be in full force.

FATBOY SLIM

After christening the inaugural Electric Gardens back in 2016 with a truly unforgettable performance, our weapon of choice, FATBOY SLIM, is pulling on his signature Hawaiian shirt and preparing to once again to be the life and soul of Electric Gardens!

ARMAND VAN HELDEN

Also joining us from across the Pond is simply one of the most pivotal figures in dance music – ever, ARMAND VAN HELDEN, who will play his first DJ set in Australia in seven years. The New York electronic music icon will perform a DJ a set packed with his massive hits – U Don’t Know Me, My My My, Bonkers (feat. Dizzee Rascal), I Want Your Soul, Duck Sauce and more.

GORGON CITY

GORGON CITY’s polished, powerful and party-minded sound – a mix of heavy hip-swinging rhythms meets butt-shaking bass – gets people making shapes all over the world, and we can’t wait to have the North London pair on our EG stage. They have helped shape the trajectory of deep house with their thoughtful, yet infectious productions.

MK

Also joining us at EG 2018 is the man behind some of the biggest tracks of early house, and still one of the most in-demand DJs on the global circuit, revered producer, remixer and DJ – MK – also known as Marc Kinchen.

Immerse yourself in Electric Garden’s fantastically diverse and friendly crowd in the lush, inner-city oasis that is Centennial Park this summer, and lose yourself to dance!
